What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday #385

This week has been a busy one for me - between getting stuff done around the house and running errands, I feel like I haven't had much time to just sit down and make art. I have stolen moments here and there though... this is what my desk looks like this morning:

I'm still having fun creating holiday cards, but I've moved on from the kits and into doing my own thing this week. I've gotten to play with some new Close To My Heart dies and stamps and broke out my trusty watercolor palette. And see, not so tidy when it's not all laid out for me. 😉 Creative chaos reigns.

If you're curious to know more about What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, head on over to Julia's Stamping Ground to learn all about it and to check out other desks from around the world

  1. Life just gets in the way of fun sometimes. Thanks for your kind comments on my work. Happy WOYWW. 16

    1. Having to comment on Elaine's comment because I can't find a "comment" button!

Thanks for stopping by this week, Heather, and I love the holiday cards you're making at the mo - very cute!

  2. Nothing like doing your own thing when creating cards. Wishing you lots of luck with them all - when do you think you will have enough of them ready for the coming holiday season?
Remember a creative desk is a chaotic one.
    Hugs, Neet 2 xx

  3. Hi Heather. Looks like you are rally having fun there with all those bits and pieces. I like those tree Christmas cards. Well done.
    Take care. God bless.

  4. I loves creative chaos! So awesome! I need to make Halloween cards for the kiddos tonight and get them in the mail before we go! It is a case of so much to do and so little time...

  5. Thanks for visiting. I enlarged the photo and WOW such glittery fun. Adorable cards. I don't know where time goes, but seems the days just aren't long enough to get fun things done. I love your window too. Miss that in my craft space. Have a fun week.

  6. I tend to do my own cards rather than work from a kit. I like the look of the one on your desk. Hope you'll show us some more!

  7. Hello Heather!!! First, thanks for the visit and lovely comment you left me earlier and OF COURSE you can come live with me! (Grin) Especially if you do laundry - (she says with an even Bigger Grin on her face!) After reading your post I scrolled down a bit and I am loving your cards, Girl... and feeling a wee bit jealous because I have not even started mine, but next week I hope. Have a wonderful Wednesday from Lynne in Canada (#3)

  8. Mm Heather still looks pretty tidy to me, but loving the blue and white cards, well done! Shaz in Oz.x 31

  9. Good on you for branching out and trying your own card style. That is half the fun using up all our stash.

  10. Love your cards - the tree ones are cute but I'm really loving the blue and white one - stunning, and that's a great 'Winter' die you've got there too.
Thanks so much for stopping by earlier, sorry I'm late!

  13. Hi there thanks for popping by and your kind comments. Your desk looks very neat to me :-) - though I have tidied up now. The kit cards are nice- I did some last year as my class wanted to do some kits but I usually do my own thing - but with lots of inspiration from other more talented crafters :-) Anne x #23

  14. Hi Heather, it happens to us all when there are jobs need doing crafting has to wait. Your desk will still be there when you have time to get back to it. I planned to start making Christmas cards in August and now it's October and I think I've made two! Thanks for the visit to mine, have a great week and happy belated woyww, Angela x 17

  15. Those cards are cute, cute, cute! It's easy to fall into the chaos of creating when you get in the groove. Just enjoy it! :)

  17. Nice cards, like the use of the negative. Thanks for visiting BJ#21

  18. Ha ha, well it might be creative but it certainly is not chaotic :) Love your winter theme there. I have quite a few snowflake dies, actually, quite a lot :)
Thanks for dropping by too. Have a good week.

  19. I like your workspace, it looks friendly - just the sort of place to while away a happy hour or two! KIts are a great kick starter aren't they, giving you the idea to then go freestyle :-D

  20. Nice busy desk, Heather. I know the feeling, with other commitments robbing us of the time available to make art. It's been a while since I sat in my studio! Thank you for your lovely comment - it's amazing what the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil combo can achieve. It feels so natural and intuitive that it is easy to forget one isn't working with pen and paper. Never mind about being late with WOYWW - I always say that if it's before 11.59 p.m. on Tuesday night, you're still valid lol!!

Have a great weekend, and happy belated WOYWW,
    Shoshi #41

  24. Hi Heather! Your Christmas cards look great! I know what it's like to have life distract you from craft time!

    Thanks for visiting me!
